A leading Osun APC governorship aspirant, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has paid a congratulatory visit to the new Akire of Ikireland, His Royal Majesty Oba Tajudeen Olanrewaju Akintula I.

During the visit, Oyebamiji reminded the monarch of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s pivotal role in ensuring his emergence as king. The aspirant disclosed that the President personally authorized and ordered legal measures to resolve the protracted chieftaincy crisis that had plagued the town, thereby stabilizing the traditional ruling system.

“Without Mr. President’s decisive intervention and the legal framework he mandated, the path to your throne would have remained blocked,” Oyebamiji was quoted as saying. He described Tinubu as a leader committed to preserving Yoruba heritage and ensuring justice in traditional institutions.

The former NIWA boss also used the opportunity to solicit the royal father’s blessings ahead of the upcoming governorship primaries and election, pledging to replicate the same developmental zeal at the state level if given the mandate.

In response, the newly installed Akire offered heartfelt prayers for Oyebamiji’s political ambition. Oba Akintula invoked divine guidance and success for the aspirant, describing him as a worthy son of the soil. “May the Lord go before you and grant you your heart’s desire in good health and victory,” the monarch prayed.

The visit, which held at the Akire’s Palace, was described by aides as cordial and symbolic of AMBO’s grassroots engagement strategy. It also reinforced the bond between the Oyebamiji dynasty and the traditional institution in Ikireland.

Observers see the move as a calculated step by the APC stalwart to consolidate support from traditional rulers ahead of the state’s gubernatorial race.
