Iran’s top military commander has issued a striking warning to U.S. President Donald Trump, saying that any military confrontation between Tehran and Washington would serve as a “lesson” for the U.S. leader and weaken American leverage on the global stage — a stark message delivered as both sides prepare for another round of nuclear negotiations.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, made the comments on Sunday, February 15, 2026, during a public ceremony in Tehran. His remarks were carried by state and regional outlets in Iran and internationally. General Mousavi directly questioned the coherence of U.S. policy by highlighting what he views as contradictory signals coming from Washington.
